This stimulating probe is intended for stimulating across the bulk of a tumor to determine whether a nerve is lying behind a structure, and is not designed for accurate and selective nerve stimulation. However, accuracy can be improved by inserting the ground electrode as close as possible to the surgical area, and by using the minimum current that will stimulate the nerve.

A bend may be placed in the shaft of the probe for use under a microscope.  Sold in boxes of 10 probes.  Single use only.

This stimulating probe is the most accurate of the three disposable probes but has the least ability to stimulate through a layer of tissue. It is accurate to approximately 0.5mm. In order to stimulate through any tissue covering the nerve, the current must be increased.

The probe is designed so that the shaft may have a single bend of up to 30° put in it by the surgeon if using a microscope.  Sold in boxes of 10 probes.  Single use only.

This stimulating probe will stimulate through a small amount of tissue and yet remain accurate. Current is passed between the two probe tips, so the current is localized but will also flow through adjacent tissue. The further apart the two probe tips, the greater the current penetration and the less accurate the probe becomes.

As with the Concentric Probe above, a bend may be put in the shaft of the probe. And as the probe is single-use, the Teflon coating is guaranteed to be perfect every time.  Sold in boxes of 10 probes.  Single use only.
